A COW has been rescued from the river Derwent.
The animal was saved from the river at Buttercrambe.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue tweeted these images of the rescue.
They added that crews from the fire station at York attended the scene, with help from animal rescue specialists from Malton and Ripon stations.
The scenes show the fire crews using inflatable dinghies, ropes and a digger - alongside considerable mapower - to pull the animal from the riverbank.
