TWO children and two women were taken to hospital for a precautionary check-up following a car crash yesterday.
North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue were called to the scene at Prospect Hill in Whitby at around 3.30pm.
Described as a three-vehicle collision, a fire spokesperson said that no-one was trapped but one woman was assisted from the vehicle due to damage to the driver's door preventing her from getting out.
Police said that the road was temprarily closed while ambulances attended to people at the scene.
Fire services said the two women and two young boys were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
