ORGANISERS of this weekend’s Malton Show are promising a great day out with new attractions for all the family.

Celebrating its 132nd anniversary, the show will again be held at Scampston Park, near Rillington, on Sunday.

This year’s president is Georgia Horsley, the youngest person to take on the role.

Georgia, who is originally from Malton, won Miss England in 2007. She married Danny Jones of McFly at St Mary’s Church in Old Malton in 2014.

She said: “I’m incredibly honoured to be asked to be president at this year’s show. I used to love going to the show when I was younger and have nothing but fond memories of attending the show with my family. I can’t wait to make the journey back home and see what this year’s show has in store.”

Charlie Breese, chairman of the Malton Show Committee, added: “We are delighted that Georgia has agreed to be our president this year. It’s very kind of her to travel home to Yorkshire with her family to support the show.”

BATA is the primary sponsor of this year’s show which includes a number of new attractions, particularly for children, including an entertainment tent. There will also be donkey rides, a reptile tent, additional ridden heavy horses class, and a fun bus.

Returning attractions include vintage tractors and machinery, classic car display, farmers’ market, varied livestock sections – sheep, cattle, goats, alpacas, champion dog show and agility courses run by Ryedale Dog Rescue, fur and feather, horticulture, handicrafts, children’s sections and an art section, craft tent and miniature railway
