TWO Wimbledon-style courts have been officially opened at Malton Tennis Club.
The courts were refurbished after the club secured £71,000 of funding from Ryedale District Council, the York Lawn Tennis Association and club funds.
Chairman Sam Alasfar said they were delighted with the new purple and green courts.
“It has taken us four years to get the funding and we now have five grass and four hard courts,” he said.
“This is a great boost for our 200 members and the local community.”
Mr Alasfar said: “We would also like to thank all our local sponsors for their
help in completing the project.”
