THE second annual Swanning Around food, drink and live music festival in Pickering has been hailed a success.
Organised by the Black Swan and Whistler’s Bar, the three-day event started last year, and included several days of live music, as well as a host of local street food and drink businesses at two markets.
The markets were selling everything from pies, cheese, home bakery, locally-farmed meat and breads, as well as crafts and hand-made jewellery, and the music set list featured everything from folk singers to rock and pop bands.
Laura Bartram, manager of the Whistler’s Bar at the Black Swan, said it was a success despite a bit of flash flooding at one stage.
“It was really well-supported by the locals, and the music seemed to go down well,” she said, adding that it will definitely return next year.
