THREE people were taken to hospital after a serious two-vehicle crash.

The crash happened at about 6.10pm on Saturday on the B1249 near the top of Staxton Hill, at the entrance to RAF Staxton Wold.

It involved a black Vauxhall Mokka and a yellow Peugeot 107. The occupants of the Vauxhall, a man in his 30s and a young girl from Humberside, were taken to Scarborough hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Peugeot, a woman in her 30s from Scarborough, was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The road was closed until 11.10pm to allow for collision investigation and recovery of vehicles.
