A RIVERSIDE cafe in York received a visit from Love Island star Chris Hughes at the weekend.

Chris and his friends enjoyed lunch at Dyls cafe on Skeldergate Bridge on Sunday.

Owner Jan Dyl said: "He came in the cafe with his mates. One of my employees who watched last year's Love Island noticed him.

"They were really nice lads. Chris was lovely. He had a chat with staff.

"We had a laugh at how much food he ordered. I've never seen someone order so much."

He added: "We've had a few famous people in recently, including snooker player Ronnie O'Sullivan and Mathew Bose from Emmerdale."

On Saturday, Chris took part in the Ride of their Lives during the Macmillan Charity Raceday at York Racecourse, finishing fifth in the race.

In 2017 he shot to fame after appearing on the reality show Love Island.
