HOLIDAYMAKERS from York are among the least likely to have had a holiday romance according to research by a travel company.

Jet2 Holidays, sponsors of TV show Love Island 2018, commissioned the research, which found just 27 per cent of people from York had enjoyed a holiday romance.

In contrast, 57 per cent of Manchester residents admitted to a fling abroad. The survey also found holiday romances are not necessarily brief, with one in 25 people getting married following a summer relationship.

The holiday company also has 10 pairs of tickets to the Love Island Live final up for grabs each week throughout the series.
