RESIDENTS are being urged to report fly-tipping after the cost of the clean-up to Ryedale taxpayers was approximately £10,000 in 2017/18.
During June, Ryedale District Council’s ‘Don’t be a Waster – Reduce, Reuse, Respect’ campaign is highlighting the issue on its social media pages.
Cllr Luke Ives said: “We all have our part to play - both by reporting acts of illegal dumping and by being sure to employ responsible tradespeople with the appropriate waste carriers’ licence.
"There is no excuse for disposing rubbish illegally. It’s disgusting and an eye sore.”
Dumping waste is a criminal offence. Report fly-tipping at ryedale.gov.uk or 01653 600666.
