MOUNTAIN rescue services in the North York Moors have attended three call-outs in one afternoon.

Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team (SRMRT) said that the first call came in from ambulance crews at 3.14pm on Sunday.

They were at the scene of a woman with a leg injury at the bottom of the footpath to the Mallyan Spout waterfall.

Thirteen SRMRT team members went to the scene and carried the woman back up the path on a bell stretcher to the ambulance waiting at the Mallyan Spout Hotel.

Just after standing down, at about 5.20pm, they were then alerted to two young women who had become disorientated on a walking route in the Mallyan Spout area.

The team quickly returned to Goathland and deployed search parties.

At that point one of SRMRT’s incident controllers managed to establish contact with the party, and talked them back to their car.

Then, while driving back to base at about 6.36pm, police alerted SRMRT to a party of adults and young children who had got themselves lost on a walk between Dalby Forest visitor centre and Ellerburn.

A search was established in the forest; the party were quickly found and safely returned to their car.
