THE annual Dalby Dash has benefitted three charities.

Darran Bilton, the race director for the Dalby Dash 10k, handed over a cheques for £2,000 to Help For Heroes and for £1,500 to the Pickering Rotarians. A cheque for £500 has already been donated to Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue.

The inaugural Dalby Dash started in 2010. It is organised by Darran Bilton, with help from Pickering Rotary, and is held every year on Remembrance Sunday. The events so far have raised more than £20,000 with over £10,000 going to Help For Heroes.

Hugh Morgan, president of Pickering Rotary Club said: “I am delighted with the huge success of the Dalby Dash which is a permanent fixture in the Rotary calendar.

“It has grown year on year, and provides much needed money to a host of charities.”

This 2018 race is on November 11 at 11.02am. As usual it a 10k race on tracks through Dalby Forest.
