MALTON has the highest driving test pass rate of any test centre in England - and the eighth highest in the whole of the UK - according to new research.
The study, by Admiral insurance company's 'Veygo' magazine, analysed pass rates from each of the UK’s 345 test centres using data from the DVLA.
It found that the Malton test centre's pass rate of 70.2 per cent soars well above the UK national average - which is 49.9 per cent.
The test centre with the highest pass rate was Golspie, north of Inverness in Scotland, with a pass rate of 77.1 per cent.
Indeed, apart from Malton, every other test centre in the top ten top-scoring centres was north of the border.
The test centres with the lowest number of passes were mostly in large urban centres. Yeading in London has a pass rate of just 20 per cent, according to the research.
