AUDIENCES at Pocklington Arts Centre (PAC) can experience some of the world’s most prestigious and best loved theatre and ballet performances over the coming months as the venue brings a total of five live broadcasts direct from London and Nottingham.

PAC director Janet Farmer said: “Being able to offer live broadcasts to cinema-goers right here in Pocklington is a fantastic resource and one which ensures we are able to offer audiences a truly varied multi-arts programme.

“PAC has hosted screenings of some of the world’s most renowned theatre and ballet productions to date and our live broadcasts programme for the coming months looks set to continue that trend.”

Next month, as part of Oscar Wilde Season, PAC’s cinema screen will be taken over by a broadcast of one of the English Playwright’s most renowned comedies ‘An Ideal Husband’ live and direct from London’s West End.

The production, which takes place at 7.15pm on Tuesday, June 5, forms part of a year-long celebration of the life of the Victorian playwright and will be staged by the classic Spring Theatre Company.

London’s The Royal Opera House follows with its live HD broadcast of the Royal Ballet’s Swan Lake from 7.15pm on Tuesday, June 12.
