STAFF at West Heslerton Primary School joined hundreds of competitors at the first Scampston Scramble at the weekend.

The team of five made their way around the obstacles at Scampston Hall on Sunday to raise funds for Saint Catherine's.

Head teacher Rachel Wells said: “We had a great time. All five members of staff made it round, all in one piece and were in school the next day.”

Rhiannon Hunt, event organiser, said: “The day went fantastically well with more than 750 participants who came along to take on the muddy scramble.

"We are over the moon with the turn out for our very first Scampston Scramble. It was amazing to see so many people turn out to support Saint Catherine’s services. Thanks goes to everyone involved and already we can’t wait until next year."
