A WOMAN who will undertake a skydive for Yorkshire Air Ambulance is able to do so because she lost six stone.

Izzie East, from Malton, will be doing the tandem skydive with SkyDive GB on July 1.

Izzie said: “I am doing the skydive as it is something I have always wanted to do, but have been overweight to do it. Just recently I have lost six stone through Slimming World which has enabled me to be correct weight to enter for the skydive.”

According to the SkyDive GB website, the maximum weight for tandem skydiving is 95.25kg - or 15 stone - fully clothed.

Izzie is hoping to raise £200 for the YAA, not only because of the vital work they do to save lives, but also because she one day hopes to be part of it. She said: “I am also doing the skydive because the YAA saves so many lives and it is shocking that it is only funded by people’s generosity.

“Skydive GB chose the YAA and it caught my eye when the advertised it on their social media.

“I have never been helped by the YAA but I am aspiring to become a paramedic and then hopefully specialist enough to do something like the YAA.”

SkyDive GB operate near Bridlington on the Yorkshire coast.

Izzie said: “I am scared but also excited to do the skydive because it is something I have always wanted to do. I cannot wait to do it.”
