CYCLING fans have been urged to plan ahead and go out and watch this year’s Tour de Yorkshire.
North Yorkshire County Council has encouraged people to find out about the road closures between Thursday, May 3, and Sunday, May 6, at northyorks.gov.uk/tour
David Bowe, from the council, said: “While we are hoping that everyone will have a fantastic time watching this year’s race, we also want spectators to be safe, take care and have respect for their surroundings. We are urging people to plan ahead and be prepared, as the safety of spectators, cyclists and other road users is our prime concern.”
Scarborough will host a sea front finish in Royal Albert Drive on Saturday, May 5, passing through the town at about 4.29pm before heading out to Filey, then back to Scarborough for the grand finale in North Bay at 5.26pm.
The tour will also pass through Hambleton, Ryedale and Harrogate. For more information go to letour.yorkshire.com
