“I have raised tens of thousands of pounds over the years for various charities doing tons of different fundraisers and volunteering his time to make a difference.”

This year will see Ryan taking to the stage to host numerous events and festivals across the region including, Tribfest at Sledmere House. He is also hosting Staxtonbury Festival on the yorkshire coast which is celebrating it’s tenth year and not forgetting Flamingo Land Resorts Party In The Park concerts and SHARFEST in Birmingham.

Ryan said: “The media personality meant so much to me as helping people is something that I have always done.

“It is also something which I have worked and devoted a lot of time and effort to either on local television, radio, across social media and Flamingo Land Resort presenting Party in the Park.”

Ryan said: “Thank you to everybody who took the time to vote for me across Yorkshire and beyond.

“I feel truly honoured to be recognised, I had some very tough competition and with no manager or qualifications in media I have managed to achieve this with help from my fans, friends and family.”

Ryan added: “Well done to all the other nominees and winners on the night.

“Yorkshire has some truly inspirational people and it makes me proud to be from this region.

Recognising local achievers, the Yorkshire Choice Awards aims to honour the region’s most inspirational local organisations, entrepreneurs and individuals.

The event is organised by Melanie Malcolm and Jo Maltby and this year’s event supported St Gemma’s Hospice in Leeds.

Jo said: “We had a phenomenal response to the awards - proof that Yorkshire really does thrive on amazing people.

“This year we received 435,000 registered votes for nominees which is amazing and most importantly all the winners are chosen by people in Yorkshire.”
