FIREFIGHTERS from Kirkbymoorside, Pickering and Helmsley were called to reports that a light aircraft had crashed in a field near the village of Fadmoor at 1.38pm on Sunday.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said: “We were notified of reports of a light aircraft having crashed in a field, which had been spotted by another plane which was flying overhead.
“Crews attended the site and carried out a search for casualties but could not find anybody nearby."
The spokesperson added: “Further investigations revealed that the aircraft had been there for several days and no action was required from ourselves.”
