A BUSINESSWOMAN has been recognised for her success as female entrepreneur.

Helen Brunton, from Thornton-le-Clay, has been awarded a #WOW badge by Jacqueline Gold, chief executive of Gold Group International, Ann Summers and Knickerbox.

Helen was one of three winners after she entered Women on Wednesday – a competition launched by Jacqueline in 2011 to celebrate the growing number of UK businesswomen.

Helen, who set up her business Get Hampered in January 2013, said: “I have always had a love of buying and bringing together lots of different items for loved ones for special occasions, Christmas and birthdays, placing them into a gift box and, adding stunning finishing touches with bows, ribbon and embellishments to make a truly thoughtful and memorable gift.

“Family and friends really liked their gifts so I decided to bring my passion, creativity and gift hamper making into the online marketplace.

“I was in the middle of being ‘mum’s taxi’ for the evening when I found out I had won a #WOW badge.

“I was incredibly proud and overjoyed to receive such a special award. I am very much looking forward to the next part of the company’s hamper adventure and to further grow my business.”

Women on Wednesday (#WOW) takes place every week and is run through Jacqueline’s Twitter page. When selecting the winners, Jacqueline looks for businesses that are interesting, that have strong brand values and that she thinks have potential to grow and succeed in their industry.

Jacqueline said: “Get Hampered caught my eye as soon as I visited their website and saw the extensive range of products on offer. From gorgeous hampers filled with luxury gourmet food to bespoke gifts for all occasions, Get Hampered covers all of your gifting needs.

“For me, #WOW is all about inspiring and celebrating female entrepreneurs. My vision is for women in the UK to come together, celebrate their strengths, skills and fantastic businesses, and do all that they can to inspire other women to realise their potential.

“The WOW community is a fantastic network which offers female entrepreneurs the opportunity to share advice, support each other, trade and most importantly celebrate their successes.”
