YOUNGSTERS have been fun during the Easter break with a host of events.

Helmsley Walled Garden organised by baking workshop, the first of its kind to be run venue.

It was organised by Annabelle Robinson of Just Bake Happy and children made Easter bunny pizzas and cupcakes with personal designs they created from piped icing, chocolate shapes and marshmallows.

Annabelle started Bake Happy two years ago initially providing a range of baking kits and then developing into cookery parties, after school baking clubs and holiday workshops. The aim is to help develop cooking and baking skills in children whist still making it fun.

Annabelle said: “We can create workshops suitable for all ages with more complex baking for older groups, the aim is always to have fun whilst gaining valuable life skills.”

Tricia Harris, Helmsley Walled Garden, marketing manager, said: “This was a first for us but we would hope to run more workshops in the summer. The kids had a great time and went away proudly clutching their bags full of pizza and cupcakes. I can definitely say a fun time was had by all.”

Meanwhile, Beck Isle Museum in Pickering offered visitors a host of activities, including an Easter trail where children had to find the clues around the museum to stand a chance of winning a chocolate treat, as well as some springtime craft activities.
