ST Leonard’s Hospice in York will be holding a month-long celebration of art in July, and is appealing for artists of all levels to submit works.

The festival will showcase art from all different styles and genres and everyone, from professional artists and photographers to complete beginners.

There will be a number of community events, workshops and exhibitions throughout the month, culminating in an exhibition at the University of York, from Thursday, July 19 to Saturday, July 21.

The aim is to display over 500 pieces of artwork in this exhibition, and members of the public can come to view and purchase art. The public will also vote for the festival favourite.

In order to raise funds for the hospice, a minimum commission of 30 per cent will come to the hospice; the rest will go to the artist.

Artists can elect to donate a higher commission rate to the hospice. In the event of 100 per cent commission being gifted to St Leonard’s Hospice, entry will be free of charge.

Artists can register online at the St Leonard’s Hospice website or download a paper form to fill in.

Further terms and conditions apply. There is a £5 entry fee per artwork submitted and a maximum of six entries per person. The deadline for entries is Friday, June 1.
