NORTH Yorkshire Police are seeking witnesses to an incident which happened on the A64 Seamer Road in Scarborough.

At around 2pm yesterday, a report was made to police about a male pedestrian who was approaching people in vehicles stopped near the traffic lights around the Retail Park junction with Seamer Road, in the vicinity of B&Q.

Scarborough Police attended and arrested a suspect.

In an appeal through the community messaging system, police said: "Witnesses are being sought, other than those who have already spoken to the police, as a number of people would have seen the incident, with some reported to be filming the incident on mobile phones.

"We are appealing for anyone with footage, including mobile phone and dashcam footage, or anyone who was approached in the traffic, or anyone with any information, to please get in touch with police.
