A MALTON Maltese has won a clutch of awards at Crufts.

Gino, whose full showname is Benatone Gino D’Acampo, won reserve best of breed at the NEC in Birmingham last week.

He also got the dog challenge certificate and the open prize in the Maltese males category.

Gino had already become a British Champion in October last year.

Owner Angela Egan said: “This is a huge win.

“I wanted to say thank you to Gino’s breeder and handler Sarah Jackson because she’s done all the work, not me.

“I wanted to thank her for making him a champion, for a win at Crufts, and for the two hours a day it takes to groom him.”
