STUDENTS from Malton School have reached the finals of the Young Scientist of the Year award.
The pupils will be competing against hundreds of other students at The Big Bang UK Young Scientists and Engineers Fair in Birmingham this week.
Science teacher Nicky-Jo Cooper said: “Following research started by a local GP, they have investigated the possible uses of ancient Roman eye medicines.
“They have learnt sophisticated microbiology techniques with support from the University of York and have produced a scientific paper.
“I have been incredibly impressed with the students commitment and investigative skills and I wish them the best of luck in the final.”
