A FAMILY'S cherished set of bicycles have been stolen in Pickering.

The five push bikes - including a child's 'tag-along' bike - were taken during a burglary at a property on Castlegate in Pickering.

They were stolen from an outbuilding at the property at some time overnight on Tuesday, February 13 to Wednesday, February 14.

The bikes are described as:

  • a man’s Giant Escape mountain bike in blue (a noticeably large model)
  • a pink and white ladies’ Claude Butler mountain bike
  • a man’s Shogun Jackal XTC mountain bike in blue
  • a child’s Grant XTC in red, white and blue

Also stolen was a young child’s Spokey Joe tag-along bike in red. This has one wheel and attaches to an adult’s bike.

The bikes are described as the cherished property of the family and the burglary has left the children in distress.
