TWO fire crews were called to a chimey fire in Pickering yesterday.

Firefighters from Pickering and Kirkbymoorside stations were called just after 4.20pm to a semi-detached house on Manor Drive.

The crews used an array of equipment to tackle the incident including a 10.5m ladder, harnesses, roof ladder, triple extension ladder, chimney rods, thermal imaging camera, and two hosereels.

The cause of the fire is believed to be an accumulation of soot.
