PEOPLE in York have until the end of the week to have their say about plans to fight congestion on the ring road.

The council is asking people for comments on proposals to cut journey times on the A1237. The scheme focuses on the Wetherby Road roundabout as part of a £38 million programme of improvements set for the next four years.

The planned upgrade will bring in more lanes and space on the approaches and exits, as well as improvements for pedestrians and cyclists. The council also say that where possible, new road layouts will be designed so they can fit in with any future scheme to dual the ring road.

The Wetherby Road works are planned for early Summer in 2018, but the public consultation closes on Friday, February 2.

The plans are available online at www.york.gov.uk/yorr, or at the council’s West Offices on Station Rise.
