ONCE more Norton College is preparing to stage another ambitious musical performance - Legally Blonde The Musical JR.

More than 60 students from Years 7 to 13 are learning their lines, treading the boards and singing their hearts out ready for the show.

Based on the award-winning Broadway musical and the smash-hit motion picture, the show is a journey of self-empowerment with instantly recognisable songs.

The main cast are Lucinda Ward playing Elle Woods, Luke Scott playing Warner Huntington III, Charlie Monkman playing Emmett Forrest, Lauren Richardson playing Margot, Gemma Brazil playing Serena, Eleanor Young playing Pilar and Lydia Taylor playing Paulette.

Chloe Shipley, drama teacher and director, said: “What a fantastically fun show this is. The students have thrown themselves into it - heart and soul. It’s a coming-together of students across year groups and everyone is so committed to making it work. It’s brilliant to see the children and young adults’ self-belief flourish and their real determination to make the show a success. Just as they do year after year.”

Callum Hodgson, student in Year 8, who plays Pforzheimer said: “I might be a bit nervous on the first night, but I just plan to enjoy it, like I did last year with Joseph.”

The show runs for four nights from Monday, February 5. Tickets are £4.50 concessions, £3.50 staff and students and £6.50 adults. They can be purchased from positickets.co.uk
