A RYEDALE guest house is set to feature in a Channel 4 show next week.

Laskill Country House and its owner Mandy Sowray are one of the entrants in the 'Four in a Bed' series.

The guest house is up against three other establishments from Shropshire, Leicestershire and East Sussex.

Laskill House is situated in Bilsdale, six miles north of Helmsley, deep in the North York Moors.

Farmer's daughter Mandy teamed up with friend and fellow B&B manager Anny Harrison for the show.

She said it was filmed over a "whirlwind" two weeks last July - but only after they were picked following an hour-long phone interview and a three-hour screen test.

"It was great fun filming but absolutely exhausting," she said, adding they had "a camera in your face from the minute you wake up on a morning to rolling over to sleep on a night".

Four in a Bed is a Channel 4 reality series which has been running since 2010.

The show involves four B&B owners who take it in turns to stay with one another – and pay what they consider fair for their experience.

The winner is then the establishment named best value for money.

The first show will air at 5pm on Monday, January 22 on Channel 4, then it will run for the rest of the week.
