A DOG which went missing from Malton has turned up at its owner's house.
A Facebook appeal yesterday, shared by a Dog Theft Awareness group, said the border collie was stolen from a pick-up truck in Malton.
Ryedale police confirmed it was taken from a dog box in the rear of the vehicle outside the Spotted Cow public house between 10am and 3pm yesterday.
However in a social media update last night, Kate Russell, daughter of the owner, said the collie, named Maize, had "turned up on the doorstep" at around 8pm.
The original appeal had been shared more than 2,500 times.
