RYEDALE Family History Group has launched its new programme of talks for 2018 with a new leaflet.
The group organise talks across Ryedale that take place on the third Wednesday of each month, with the exception of December.
Freda Shaw, programme co-ordinator, said:”I am delighted with the programme we have put together for 2018.
“There is a variety of topics from military service tribunals held in the North Riding to the history of the Ryedale Show, stained glass trade and a Woldsman’s Diary. We have also picked a couple of new venues. There really is something for everyone.”
Also new this year, alongside the regular evening meetings, is the introduction of afternoon meetings. These are in January, February and November and will start at 2pm.
The first meeting is today (Wednesday) at 2pm and is a talk by Ian Tomlinson on Stained Glass – a mystery trade. The meeting is aat Hovingham Village Hall.
The new leaflet is available at local libraries, the Ryedale Family History Group Research Room at Hovingham, which is open each Thursday and also available to download from ryedalefamilyhistory.org
