POLICE have thanked a member of the public for a tip-off which resulted in two nuisance bikers being stopped.

Two motorbikes have been recovered following reports of problems in the Kirkleatham area of Redcar.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "We would like to thank a member of the public who alerted us to two motorbikes hidden in bushes in the Kirkleatham area of Redcar.

"The community has suffered many instances of nuisance bike riding recently and we have received numerous calls about the issue.

"Following the gentleman passing information on, officers attended and recovered the bikes. Investigations are on-going to locate the owners."
