A CHARITY pie night has raised funds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance (YAA).
The Newton White Swan Inn at Newton-upon-Rawcliffe held a charity pork pie festival with more than 15 entries being sampled and scored on taste and presentation.
A total of £209 was raised for the YAA.
Linda Green, who runs the pub with her husband Stephen, said: “Grateful thanks go to many local butchers for their support and donations, including Fords, Glaves, Hanns, Horsleys, Jacksons, Radfords, Sissons, Trotters and Wainds.”
The pub will be holding a further fundraising event for the YAA on New Year’s Eve.
The casino night, from 8pm, will include black jack and roulette, followed by a disco. Black tie and fancy dress is optional.
Tickets are £5 and available by phoning the Newton White Swan on 01751 472505 or go to newtonwhiteswan.co.uk
