Car crash on the A64 at Barton Hill
EMERGENCY services have attended a crash on the A64, which led to the closure of the road.
A police spokesperson confirmed it was a crash between a car and an HGV near Whitwell.
The crash was on the westbound carriageway of the A64. It was reported at 4.13pm.
Police, ambulance and fire crews attended. Fire services said that crews had extricated a woman from the back of a vehicle.
As of 7.30pm, one lane of the road was still closed, though traffic was moving freely.
The incident follows another road closure on the A64 at Staxton, earlier in the day, also following a crash between a car and an HGV.
