A WOMAN has been taken to hospital by air ambulance following a serious crash on the A169.
The two-vehicle crash happened outside the Steam & Moorland Garden Centre near Pickering shortly before 12.30pm.
It involved a Kia Carens and a Ford Transit.
Police attended alongside other emergency services. The road was blocked between the garden centre and the Beansheaf Garage.
A fire service spokesperson said that fire crews assisted in releasing a woman from the Kia.
Police said that the driver of the Kia was taken to James Cook hospital via air ambulance with serious - but not life-threatening - injuries.
The driver of the Ford sustained minor injuries.
The road re-opened at 2.30pm.
