A MOTORCYCLIST who was killed in a crash has been named by police.
Alex Boorman, 27, from Thirsk, was riding on the A19 when he was in collision with a Vauxhall Viva at Easingwold Bypass at just after 7.30pm on Thursday, December 7.
The 22-year-old driver of the Vauxhall was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drug driving, and later released under investigation by North Yorkshire Police while enquiries continue.
Two passengers in the Vauxhall included a 22-year-old man who was taken to the LGI by air ambulance with serious but not life threatening injuries, and a 17-year-old woman who was taken to York hospital by road ambulance with serious but not life threatening injuries.
