A FAMOUS Whitby fish and chip shop is re-opening this month after it was devastated by a fire in May.
The Magpie Cafe on Pier Road tweeted that they will re-open from December 14 at 11.30am.
Finally! We're delighted to announce the restaurant will reopen to the public next Thursday at 11.30am. We will open on a first-come, first-served basis that day, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Thank you all once again for your support. From all of us at The Magpie Cafe #whitby pic.twitter.com/OclWsJnBIx

They also thanked customers for their support.
The Cafe was hit by fire twice in 24 hours over the May bank holiday weekend, with firefighters first called to the premises at 10.15pm on Sunday and then again at 3.28pm the following day.
Nobody was hurt in either of the fires which caused considerable damage to the 17th century building's roof.
The damage resulted in the interior of the building being removed and painstakingly put back.
