A WOMAN'S body has been found on a beach in Whitby this morning.
Officers were called to the scene at 7.30am, near the cliff lift, following the call from a member of the public who was walking their dog.
Ambulance crews and the coastguard also attended and, sadly, the woman was pronounced dead.
Officers are currently working to confirm the her identity.
Police do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident.
