THE Arctic blast is bringing sleet and snow to the North York Moors today.
Wintry showers, heavy at times and with hail, sleet and snow over higher levels, are blowing inland today from the North Sea.
There was a dusting of snow alongside the A170 at Sutton Bank near Thirsk by mid-morning.
Frost tonight will bring a risk of dangerously icy roads after today's showers.
Temperatures are set to rise no higher than 3C in North Yorkshire tomorrow, bringing a risk of snow as wintry showers spread inland in the afternoon and evening.
The weather will gradually turn milder on Friday and through the weekend, with temperatures in rising as high as 9C by Sunday under largely cloudy skies.
