A TEAROOM based in the North York Moors was awarded a recommended award at a recent food and drink awards ceremony.
Dale Head Farm Tea Garden, in Rosedale, was a finalist in the Coffee or Tea Shop of the Year category at the Yorkshire Life food and drink awards.
Owner Maggie Barraclough said the judges had come in anonymously and getting the nod was “fantastic”. “It’s really important to me that people enjoy coming,” she said.
Described as a refuge in the moors, the tea room serves fruit scones as well as homemade historical creations such as ginger "moggy" and "funeral biscuits", served at wakes in Victorian times.
