A YOUTHFUL York City's reserves line-up suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat to their Mansfield Town counterparts this afternoon.
The visiting Stags took less than a minute to open the scoring in the Central League North clash at Bootham Crescent, with Hayden White firing past Luke Simpson in the home goal.
Mansfield doubled their lead shortly before the break thanks to Jimmy Spencer's header.
Familiar face Tyler Walton – back on trial at City following his release at the end of last season – fired narrowly wide for the home side.
However, the visitors were three-up shortly after when Spencer netted his second of the afternoon.
A poor back pass from Walton allowed Callum Butcher to add a fourth, and there was still time for the Mansfield man to net a fifth and round off a comprehensive victory for his side.
City: Simpson, Kemp, Lawrence (Watson 69), Wharton, Rogerson, Sukar, Haswell, Walton, McNaughton, Thompson, Jackson (Harrison 76). Not used: Wilton, Berry, Overton.
