AS Bonfire Night approaches, here's a list of bonfires and firework displays taking place across our area.

Friday, November 3

  • Kirkham Abbey: Stone Trough, charity bonfire night and fireworks display, 6pm start. Free entry. Event in aid of Yorkshire Air Ambulance.
  • Flaxton: Sandburn Hall, Scotchman Lane, Flaxton, Bonfire Night & Fireworks, 5pm.

Saturday, November 4

  • Helmsley: Sports and Recreation Ground, Baxtons Lane, Helmsley, musical firework extravaganza, Gates open 6pm, fireworks at 7pm, children's disco 7.30pm. Tickets £5 at the gate, under fives free.
  • York: Dunnington Bonfire, 4.30pm to 8pm. Family ticket £30.
  • York: Rawcliffe County Park, 5pm. Adults £10, children £5, under fives for free.
  • Thirsk: Thirsk Rotary Club fireworks display, gates open 5pm, fireworks from 7pm. Entry on the day Family (2+) £10 adults £5, child £3, under fives free. Advance purchase discount from Johnson's Buchers, Thirsk Garden Centre, Thirsk TIC. No private fireworks.

Sunday, November 5

  • Wombleton: Wombleton Sports and Recreation Club’s bonfire and fireworks display, at the sportsfield. The bonfire will be lit at 6pm with fireworks at about 6.30pm. Hot food will be available. Entry is £4 for adults and £2 for children. People are asked not to take sparklers. Proceeds from the event are for pavilion improvements.
  • Upper Poppleton: The Poppleton Centre, Main Street, Upper Poppleton, bonfire and firework spectacular, 5pm to 9pm.
  • York: York Maze fireworks spectacular, 4.30pm to 10.30pm - SOLD OUT
  • Pocklington: Town council fireworks and bonfire night, West Green, Pocklington, gates open 5pm, fireworks 6.30pm. Prices on the gate £5 adults, £3 for 14-year-olds, under 14s free. Pre-book tickets £4 adults, £2.50 for 14-17-year-olds.
