ONE of the original Calendar Girl’s is to open the Christmas fair at Terrington Hall School.

Tricia Stewart, the originator and driving force behind the alternative WI calendar, will open this year’s fair with a talk and book-signing event.

Tricia, who has been played on screen by Dame Helen Mirren and on stage by everyone from Linda Bellingham to Anita Dobson, will share her amazing and inspirational story at on Wednesday, November 22.

She said: “I am really looking forward to visiting Terrington Hall School and having the opportunity to share my Calendar Girls experience with the local community.

“The global success of our alternative WI calendar, which all started in North Yorkshire nearly 20 years ago, continues to delight and amaze me. Events such as this help to continue the fundraising for Bloodwise, which I know was Terrington Hall’s charity of the year in 2016.

“I am also looking forward to visiting the wonderful array of stalls on offer at the Fair and hopefully crossing a few items off my Christmas shopping list.”

Tickets cost £5, which includes the talk at 11am, a light lunch and entrance to the Christmas Fair, which opens to the public at noon.
