A 30-YEAR-OLD man from Leeds has been charged with dangerous driving following an incident on the A64 at the weekend.

It happened in the early hours of Sunday, October 22.

Officers' suspicions were aroused by a vehicle seen driving at speed through Scarborough and onto the A64 towards Malton.

Officers tracked the vehicle, which was brought to a halt through the use of a stinger on the A64 near Sherburn.

A stinger is a device used to deflate the tyres of a suspect vehicle.

The driver was arrested and charged with dangerous driving.

He will appear at Scarborough Magistrates’ Court on November 6.
