LENNY Mason hit a hat-trick as Church Fenton took full advantage of a free weekend for the York Minster Engineering League’ top-four premier division sides.

With all but two of the top-flight fixtures postponed due to the representative team’s National FA Inter-League Cup game, Fenton won maximum points in a 4-3 thriller against Malton & Norton.

Jonah Beecher grabbed the home side’s fourth goal, with Scott Preston, Simon Reeves and Dean Nuttall replying for Malton.

York RI, meanwhile, claimed a valuable point at home to Poppleton United. Lewis Chipchase, Josh Coulson, Dave Melody and Darren Sellars struck for the hosts in an eight-goal draw.

Rawcliffe head up division one after a hard-fought 6-5 triumph over Wilberfoss. Niall Smallwood bagged a treble in the win with Fraser Shields, Simon Wilson and and an own goal completing their haul.

Tockwith moved up to third, as a brace from Adam Fairhurst earned them a 2-2 draw with Thorpe United.

Goals from Paul Tiffany, Phil Newstead and Thomas Hogg helped Cliffe to a 4-1 triumph at Harrison Signs, who gained little consolation from Jake Humphries’ goal.

Brooklyn and Easingwold Town couldn’t be separated after a 2-2 draw, while Haxby Town continued their fine start to the season, making it four wins from four with a 3-0 success at home to Stamford Bridge. Josh Winn, Adam Chaplin and Lee Topping found the target.

Heworth also have a 100 per cent record after three games following their 9-0 demolition of Huby United.

Man-of-the-match John Moore bagged a double hat-trick, though Darren Gargon claimed the goal of the game with a lob from the halfway line. Luke Barlow and Adam Galloway rounded off the scoring.

Barmby Moor’s Dan Simpson’s brace delivered a knockout blow to Bishopthope United, who suffered a 2-1 reversal.

Danny Franks took just 54 seconds to give Strensall the lead at home to Civil Service, who eventually levelled through George Jackson.

Joe Mason then gave the away side the advantage before Ali Brown hit a double to send Strensall into a 3-2 half-time lead.

Callum Watson levelled again for the visitors, but an own goal, allied to strikes from Liam Wingfield and Charlie Coupland, gave Strensall a 6-3 advantage.

Strensall held their nerve to gain a 6-4 win, despite a further effort from Watson.

Bubwith White Swan lie a point clear of their weekend hosts at the top of division three following a 3-2 win at Rufforth United., whose consolation came from Lee Dutton and Danny Cates.

Fulford made it two wins out of two, as Tom Wadsworth (3), Joe Konarski and Will Hopkinson fired them to a 5-1 triumph over Bramham.

Moor Lane leapfrogged The Raj in the table thanks to hat-tricks from Chris McLuskie and Andrew Kenyon, which gave them a 6-3 triumph.

Mike Cussans scored from his own half to earn Malt Shovel a 1-1 draw against Cawood.

Division four leaders Clifford were held to a 2-2 draw by LNER Builders, despite Andrew Peadon and Liam Ward efforts.

Stuart Harrison, Josh Slack and Joe Lock fired Pollington to a 3-0 win over Wheldrake.

Pocklington Town maintained their 100 per cent start to the season in York Minster Engineering League Reserve A with a 5-3 win over multiple-title winners Dunnington.

Nathan Walker struck a hat-trick for the home side with a Sam Parkinson double completing the victory.

Wigginton Grasshoppers also boast a perfect start after Steve Jarvis' 76th-minute curling free-kick gave them a 1-0 home success over Church Fenton.

Thorpe United, who top the table, resumed winning ways with a 4-3 win over Copmanthorpe.

Thomas Murden gave the home side the lead in the first period, but Ben Jones levelled matters as half-time approached.

Second-half strikes from Olly Baron and Grant Urquhart put Cop in the ascendancy, but Murden went on to complete his hat-trick and Dan Mustill ensured Thorpe collected all three points.

Tom Horsley bagged all three goals for Malton & Norton, who led Hemingbrough United 3-1 with ten minutes to go, only to concede twice due to defensive mistakes, as they were forced to settle for a share of the spoils.

Defending champions Huntington Rovers returned to winning ways, beating Easingwold 7-1.

Finlay Burbage hit Rovers' only goal of the first half, as the sides were locked 1-1 at the break, but he added three more in the second period.

A penalty converted by Tom Flint and further efforts from Luke Whittaker and Gary Mitchinson put the game to bed.

Matt O'Connell’s hat-trick saw Reserve B leaders Osbaldwick brush aside Heworth, with Tom Young, Chris Campbell, Adam Burton and George Vardy also on target in a 7-1 win.

F1 Racing came from behind three times to secure a 5-3 win over Tadcaster Magnets.

Milan Manadhar and Ed Kay added to a Dan Hood hat-trick for the hosts.

Dave Watson, Sam Lake and Miles Frodsham were the marksmen as Dringhouses secured their first points of the season, with a 3-1 triumph at Tockwith, who replied through Steve Gay.
