POLICE are urging witnesses to come forward after a man was rescued from the River Ouse in York.
Police were called to reports of a man in the river, near Scarborough Bridge, at about 2am on Sunday. He was helped to safety by a member of the public as officers arrived, police said. Ambulance and fire crews also attended, as did volunteers of York Rescue Boat. The man is not believed to have sustained any serious injuries.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
