A MAN has been arrested after a car rammed a police vehicle and led officers on a chase along the Yorkshire coast.
Police said the chase began after a car failed to stop for Humberside Police near Bridlington yesterday evening.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police's Roads Policing Group said: "It decided to venture into Scarborough and was sighted by one of our officers. It then failed to stop for us, ramming one of our police cars in an attempt to get away.
"Following a pursuit near Eastfield it crashed and a male was detained following a short foot chase."
The man, aged 19, remains in custody for questioning.
