POCKLINGTON lost 38-29 at home to Rossendale – but battled back from 21-0 down to claim a four-try bonus point.

Rossendale scored three times as they dominated the first half hour of their Northern Premier clash.

That was before Pocklington shared the honours as play swung from end to end for the rest of the game.

Hardworking No 8 George Wagstaff got Pocklington's revival underway when he charged over just before the interval for Dan Elliot to convert.

The momentum was maintained early in the second half as Ben Thoy made a barnstorming run down the left and young fullback Jed Jackson followed up to score.

Pocklington came again and Elliot added a penalty before Rossendale pulled away with a converted try and penalty.

Strong Pocklington pressure saw centre Billy Hardy power to the side of the posts for Elliot to convert, but Rossendale edged away again with their fifth converted try.

Pocklington deservedly got something out of the game with their fourth touchdown late on, centre James Flint plunging over with fly half Elliot kicking his third conversion.
