FAMILIES have enjoyed food art sessions at Norton Primary School.

Nicky Deamer, family support advisor, who works at the school, organised the fun and informal activities during the school holiday, which reflected and celebrated the area’s growing interest in food.

She said: "The Food Art morning was planned with the intention of encouraging families to have fun together, while being creative with a wide range of healthy foods."

Nicky said the feedback received from families was extremely positive

"The school hopes to build on the success of the session by offering more ‘food-based’ learning sessions to parents and children in the future," she added.

The Food Art session was one of five separate family activities which took place at the school this summer. All the activities were offered free of charge to families and this was made possible by donations from the charitable trusts, the Simpsons Trust and the Johnson Mukherjee Brothers Trust.
