LIONS International celebrates its centenary this year and Malton and Norton Lions are planning to celebrate in style on October 21.

A children’s party is planned in the Milton Rooms in Malton during the day, alongside a showcase of the work that the Lions do.

Lion president Mike Lynch said: “This is a hugely significant birthday for Lions International and we are determined to celebrate here in Malton and Norton. Local Lions work all year round raising money and supporting a whole host of individuals and organisations in our community. This event will not only be great fun, but will also showcase some of the work we do, as many people have no idea how much Lions contribute locally and internationally.

“We hope people will come along and help us to celebrate.”

The day ends with a performance by York band Huge and a curry supper. Tickets are free for the day event and £25 for the evening. Phone Nick Simpson on 0845 094 3636 for more information.
